Rabobanks Corporate Banking team services some of the largest and most complex Food & Agribusiness and Energy Transition clients within the Wholesale Banking division.

As trusted client owners, the team is responsible for originating and structuring lending solutions, owning the endtoend relationship, and delivering value through tailored financing, risk management, and markets solutions.

About the role | M te tranga

We are seeking an Associate, Corporate Banking to join our New Zealand Wholesale Banking team. This role offers a strong platform for a commercially minded professional looking to build deep expertise in credit analysis, transaction execution, and relationship banking, with a clear pathway toward senior roles such as Associate Director or Relationship Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Wholesale Banking, you will work closely with Relationship Managers and Senior Bankers, supporting clients across the Food & Agribusiness and Energy Transition sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Relationship Managers and Senior Bankers to support existing client relationships and new deal origination across the Food & Agribusiness and Energy Transition sectors.
  • Contribute to client and prospect strategy, pitch preparation, deal structuring, and transaction execution.
  • Identify opportunities across capital structure, working capital, risk management, and capital markets solutions.
  • Prepare highquality credit submissions, including financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, and assessment of financial and nonfinancial risks.
  • Assess credit proposals in line with Rabobank credit policy, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements, providing wellreasoned credit recommendations.
  • Support ongoing portfolio management, including covenant compliance and timely completion of credit reviews.
  • Coordinate with Credit, Legal, Markets, Portfolio Management, Operations, and global product partners to deliver integrated Wholesale Banking solutions.

Collaboration & Portfolio Support

  • Work closely with Credit, Legal, Markets, Portfolio Management, and Operations teams.
  • Support local initiatives relating to capital markets and structured finance opportunities.
  • Build effective internal and external networks across Rabobanks global Wholesale Banking platform.

We are after a driven and commercially astute professional with a strong interest in corporate and institutional banking. You thrive in a collaborative, dealdriven environment and are motivated to develop deep expertise in credit, transactions, and relationship management.

You will bring:

  • Experience in corporate or institutional banking, credit analysis, or a related financial services environment.
  • Strong financial modelling, analysis, and credit writing capability.
  • Sound understanding of lending products, risk assessment, and credit processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, collegiate approach and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • An affinity with the Food & Agribusiness and/or Energy Transition sectors (highly regarded).
