QRT is seeking a senior engineer with strong software engineering, systems, and reliability expertise to help scale and operate our high-performance trading platform.
This role will focus on building, scaling, and adapting critical automation, deployment, monitoring, observability, and incident-response systems for high-frequency, low-latency trading environments.
Your future role within QRT
- Scale automation, monitoring, and observability tooling for high-frequency, high-throughput systems
- Design tooling that reduces operational risk, toil, and manual intervention
- Improve metrics, logs, tracing, alerting, dashboards, and incident workflows
- Lead incident response, debugging, mitigation, post mortems, and remediation
- Evaluate trade-offs across performance, reliability, complexity, and maintainability
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and operational best practices
- Participate in the team on-call rota
Your Present Skill Set
- Deep Linux/Unix systems knowledge
- Significant experience building and operating scalable and reliable production systems
- Ability to reason about latency, throughput, capacity, and operational risk
- Strong Python engineering skills
- Experience with observability: metrics, logs, tracing, alerting, dashboards
- Strong incident response and production debugging experience
- Commitment to clear code, documentation, testing, and reducing technical debt
- Ability to work effectively with engineering, infrastructure, research, and trading teams
- Familiarity with SRE practices and philosophy
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant software development experience in a primary language.
- Experience with low-latency, high-frequency, trading, market data, or exchange connectivity systems
- Experience scaling monitoring, automation, or deployment systems for high-throughput environments
- Experience with Linux performance profiling and debugging tools
- Experience with cloud, on-premise, or hybrid infrastructure
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, AlertManager, OpenTelemetry, or similar
- Experience with CI/CD systems, canary releases, blue/green deploys, rollbacks, or feature flags
