We are seeking an experienced Head of Security Engineering to lead our security function in Paris. This is a pivotal role within our global security organisation, responsible both for local leadership and contribution to cross-regional strategic security initiatives. You will build and manage a small team of engineers and work closely with global colleagues to design, implement, and maintain robust security controls across QRT’s systems and data environments. 

This role requires deep technical expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to drive alignment between local business requirements and global security objectives. 

Your future role within QRT:

Leadership and Strategy 

  • Lead the Paris Security Engineering team, fostering technical excellence and collaboration. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for security matters in Paris, representing the global security function locally. 
  • Contribute to global security engineering strategy, ensuring consistency in controls, architecture, and processes. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including trading desks, data and strategy integration teams, and the LLM (Large Language Model) research group. 

Engineering and Implementation 

  • Oversee design and deployment of security solutions for hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure. 
  • Support secure integration of large-scale data pipelines and AI/ML platforms used by research and trading teams. 
  • Drive automation, monitoring, and detection initiatives to enhance the firm’s security posture. 
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to embed secure-by-design principles into systems and workflows. 

Risk Management and Compliance 

  • Identify and mitigate security risks within local and global technology stacks. 
  • Ensure compliance with internal security standards and relevant regulatory obligations. 
  • Conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and incident post-mortems. 

Your present skillset:

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Proven experience leading or managing a security engineering team within a complex, high-performance technology environment. 
  • Strong technical background in at least two of the following: infrastructure security, IAM, cloud security, application security, or detection engineering. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with data-intensive systems and AI/ML environments. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. 
  • Fluent in French and English; essential for collaboration with local and global teams. 
  • Experience in financial services or a high-availability trading environment is a strong advantage. 
  • Analytical, pragmatic, and delivery-oriented. 
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator across diverse teams. 
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset. 
  • Passionate about building secure, resilient systems that enable innovation.
