About the role

Our insurance practice has grown significantly over the last five years. Within this our Operations Transformation practice has been identified as a critical ‘Go To Market’ proposition for future growth. We are looking for experienced Manager level candidates who have a strong consulting skillset, with experience in transforming operations within the Insurance industry. 

We have established a vision for our Operations Transformation practice to be a market leader - winning and executing iconic projects. Our focus will be on delivering cost transformation and process excellence; productivity and capacity creation in people, process & technology; intelligent operations (automation, workflow orchestration and advanced analytics), as well as accelerated digital process transformation.

What your day will look like:

  • A primary background in consulting or advisory roles, with experience in insurance or cost transformation

  • Experience managing complex client projects and programmes to deliver tangible client benefits

  • An understanding of how to identify client needs and shape solutions and propositions for them

  • An interest in contributing to our vision to create a skilled, supportive community 

  • Evidence of developing and maintaining a network of senior client relationships

  • End-to-end delivery of client engagements (specifically around cost transformation preferred) from opportunity identification to benefit realisation including: 

    • Supporting ambitions to grow bigger and faster through identification of new opportunities

    • Mobilisation of cost transformation initiatives including scoping, planning and commercials 

    • Complex programme management, including benefit tracking and change management

    • Oversight and delivery of specific cost focused work streams and associated outputs

  • Supporting clients with new technology and digital tooling enabled approaches to cost management

  • Senior client stakeholder management and cross-functional communication, instilling cultural shifts required for a cost-conscious mindset within client organisations

  • Lead on project proposals, developing new business opportunities and selling work, with a particular focus on cost transformation or the insurance industry

  • Contribute to the development and growth of our practice through supporting recruitment and training, as well as coaching team members 

  • Development of our cost transformation methodologies, digital assets and thought leadership

This role is for you if:

  • Extensive consulting experience in delivering operational transformation engagements for financial services clients, ideally within the insurance sector or in cost transformation

  • Technical experience, including enterprise wide analytics and department or team specific analysis to identify cost transformation opportunities, possibly with the use of industry wide digital tools

  • Developed solutions to operational challenges utilising significant knowledge in:

    • Strategic cost reduction initiatives and cost analysis of different cost pools

    • Business case development to drive cost transformation initiatives and associated commercials

    • Cost transformation initiative development and delivery

  • Proven excellent communication skills and networking ability to develop sustainable relationships and understand cross-functional stakeholders to drive cultural change across an organisation 

  • Strong ability to understand, analyse and interpret financial statements 

  • Solid and articulate report, proposal and article writing skills to communicate PwC viewpoints and win work

  • Commitment to personal and professional development through seeking and acting on feedback and learning opportunities

  • A track record of coaching and developing team members with an interest in helping to build a community

  • Understanding of operating model transformation and sourcing models, operating model design, process redesign, process excellence, process analytics

  • Experience, knowledge and networks within the insurance industry is highly desirable (candidates with broader Financial Services experience would also be actively considered.
