About the role
Our Deals ITX team specializes in providing tax advice on indirect tax implications of transactions such as share and asset acquisitions, disposals, refinancing, IPOs, carve-outs, and supply chain restructurings. We lead on some of the UK's largest and most complex transactions, including significant international carve-outs and separations. The team is known for its variety of work and supportive environment. We are seeking a VAT specialist at the senior manager level to enhance our UK and international transactions capability. This advisory role spans various business sectors and offers a technically interesting and personally rewarding opportunity.
What your days will look like:
Advising companies, lenders and other stakeholders on the VAT implications of complex restructuring and transactional processes including carve outs and demergers;
Liaising with HMRC on a wide range of technical and compliance queries;
Responding to day-to-day VAT queries and developing opportunities from the internal business units;
Preparing VAT reports and other deliverables and advising on the submission of appropriate returns or other documentation to tax authorities;
Supporting the business development activities of the team (you will have a broad scope to build relationships both internally and externally);
Contributing to the technical development of the dedicated junior members of the indirect taxes team and wider team through design and delivery of training.
This role is for you if:
Must possess an ACA/ACCA/CTA Qualification (or an international equivalent)
Strong UK VAT technical skills;
Strong emotional intelligence, communication, team playing and project management skills
The ability to perform strongly and communicate succinctly with empathy under pressure.
