About you

You will need to be an Australian-qualified lawyer, with five to eight years post-qualification experience gained substantially in private practice, along with the following skills and attributes:

  • demonstrated experience in employment law
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and diverse stakeholder audiences
  • collegiate and collaborative, with the ability to lead, mentor and support other team members
  • strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities under pressure or within tight timeframes
  • commercial awareness to give clients clear answers and direction
  • enthusiasm and motivation to engage in business development, and
  • enjoy working in an engaged and high-performing team.

About Pinsent Masons

Pinsent Masons is one of the worlds leading law firms, with a rapidly growing presence in Australia built on a reputation for outstanding work for clients and genuine care for its people.

We focus on five key sectors: (1) Advanced Manufacturing & Technology, (2) Energy, (3) Financial Services, (4) Infrastructure and Real Estate, and (5) Retail, Sport and Hospitality. Our practice groups work collaboratively across these sectors.

The result is work for blue-chip clients on the full lifecycle of vital projects and transactions that shape markets across the world.

In Australia, we are rapidly growing with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. We are well connected into our global network, which results in rewarding work and unique career opportunities.

Most importantly, we are a purpose and people led law firm.

Our purpose is to make business work better for people. That means constantly questioning how the world works and then being bold with our responses.

Our people are what drive this purpose. We want lawyers who bring their own unique experience to the firm, are constantly curious, and who meaningfully connect with their colleagues and clients. In return, we provide an environment where our lawyers can drive their development, work flexibly and learn fast.

What will we offer you?

  • We have a global reach and a local feel. With 30 offices and 2000 lawyers operating across Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, you'll be exposed to domestic, international and multi-jurisdictional high-profile work, yet be in an office where everyone knows your name.
  • We do things a bit differently. Legal services are at the core of our business, however we have diversified into other areas providing complimentary services to clients through offerings like Vario flexible services.
  • We like to be flexible. Our firm is professional and allows you to bring our whole self to work. Dress for your day and in your own style and participate in practices that support your wellbeing, mental wellness and work/life balance so that everyone can thrive at work and at home.
  • We're lots of fun and very inclusive. You'll also have plenty of opportunities to participate in, and even run, social activities, diversity and inclusion networks, and charitable initiatives.

At Pinsent Masons we value diversity and inclusion. We are committed to creating a better workplace where all our talent can succeed and feel like they belong. We want to attract, retain and develop people at all levels and encourage applications from all suitably qualified candidates whatever your ethnicity, religion, age, physical or mental disability/ long term condition, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or any other characteristics protected by local law in the jurisdictions in which we operate.
