Role Overview:

PIMCO is advancing its next-generation Client Reporting Platform, focused on delivering a scalable, intuitive, and globally consistent reporting experience for institutional clients. The platform supports portfolio reporting, performance analytics, and multi-channel distribution across regions and client segments.

We are seeking a Lead Business Analyst based in Japan to support this platform, with a strong focus on Japanese client reporting requirements, regulatory considerations, and regional business workflows. This role will act as a key bridge between business stakeholders, product teams, and technology partners, ensuring client reporting solutions align with business needs while fitting within the broader global platform strategy.

Fluency in Japanese and English is essential, as the role requires frequent interaction with local stakeholders and global technology teams.

Qualifications:

Fluency in Japanese and English (written and verbal), with the ability to operate seamlessly across both local and global contexts.

Leadership: Lead the analysis, documentation, and prioritization of business requirements for client reporting capabilities, with a strong focus on Japan-specific needs.

5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Lead Business Analyst, preferably within asset management, investment management, or financial services.

Strong understanding of client reporting, including performance reporting, portfolio data, and investment analytics.

Stakeholder Partnership: Work closely with Japan-based business users, client service teams, and product owners to understand reporting workflows, client expectations, and regulatory considerations.

Translation Between Business & Technology: Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering and platform teams.

Domain Expertise in Client Reporting: Provide subject matter expertise across performance reporting, portfolio data, analytics, and report distribution.
