Full Job Description

Perella Weinberg Partners is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Associate who is eager to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced financial services environment. This is an opportunity to build a broad foundation in both U.S. and international tax across corporate and partnership structures, working alongside an experienced in-house tax team and a network of top-tier external advisors. This position sits within our Global Tax function in New York and reports directly to the Head of Tax. You will play an important role in supporting the full scope of the firm's tax compliance and planning activities, contributing to a team that values technical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement.

The role:

  • Support the Head of Tax with all aspects of PWPs tax compliance process, working closely with outside advisors on corporate and partnership federal, state, local and foreign tax returns.

  • Prepare quarterly and year-end tax provision calculation and related financial statement disclosure (ASC 740).

  • Coordinate partner tax reporting process, including taxable income estimates and K-1s.

  • Support coordination with local tax advisors across PWP's international offices (UK, France, Germany, and Canada), including assisting with information requests, data gathering, and review of advisor work product.

  • Assist with the implementation of new tax policies, strategies, and procedures to support tax and other cross-functional initiatives, as appropriate.

  • Prepare and analyze the impact of changing laws and regulations and how these apply to PWPs policies and practices.

  • Support the Head of Tax in all areas of process improvement and compliance with SOX and other controls

  • Respond to IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices; Communicate with relevant parties in connection with audits, inquiries and tax notices.

  • Assist with and/or prepare tax-related U.S. GAAP and SEC filing requirements.

  • Perform review of all filings upon completion by outside service providers as applicable.

  • Research technical tax and accounting issues and assist with disclosure matters and document thoroughly.

  • Leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency across tax research, document review, and compliance workflows, as part of PWP's broader initiative to integrate emerging technologies into the tax function.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience with partnership experience preferred.

  • Experience working at a Big 4 accounting firm or large organization or a combination of both.

  • Working knowledge of ASC 740: Accounting for Income Taxes is a plus

  • Bachelors degree required; Accounting, Finance, or Economics major preferred.

  • MBA, Master in Taxation or Master in Accounting degree preferred.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Highest degree of integrity.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated; ability to multi-task and pivot as priorities change.

  • Must be a team player and function well in a team environment; this role requires sharing ideas, knowledge and supporting the goals of the Firm.

  • Highly proficient in Excel and Word.

The annualized base salary for this position is $100,000 $130,000.

The annualized base salary range represents low and high ends of the base pay range for this position. The specific base salary an employee in this job classification receives depends on a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic work location, prior employment history/experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.

Base pay is just one component of PWPs total compensation package that may be available to employees. Depending on the position and other factors, other rewards may also include discretionary bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), paid time off, and many other benefits, subject to applicable eligibility criteria and Firm policies.
