Optivers Holding Legal Team and Legal Europe team advise the Optiver Group on a broad range of regulatory matters across jurisdictions. This role sits across both teams and supports the Optiver Group, including but not limited to Optiver Holding B.V. and Optiver VOF, on prudential and conduct-related regulatory matters.

WHAT YOULL DO:

As Regulatory Counsel, you will join Optivers Global Legal function, working across both the Holding Legal Team and the Legal Europe team. Based in Amsterdam and reporting to the Head of Regulatory Legal Europe, you will advise on a wide range of prudential and conduct-related regulatory matters affecting the Optiver Group, including Optiver VOF and other group entities.

You will provide clear, pragmatic legal advice on regulatory developments, day-to-day matters and strategic projects, while partnering closely with colleagues in Legal, Compliance, Risk and the business across Europe, APAC and the US.

WHO YOU ARE:

You are a pragmatic and intellectually curious regulatory lawyer who enjoys working across a wide range of topics in a dynamic, international environment. You are confident navigating complex legal questions, comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders, and motivated by delivering clear and practical advice.

  • A Dutch law degree.
  • 4 to 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience, with a strong focus on financial regulatory matters.
  • Experience advising on prudential regulatory and conduct regulatory issues relevant to regulated financial institutions, proprietary trading firms, investment firms or other market participants.
  • Ideally, experience gained at a leading law firm, in-house legal team, or a combination of both.
  • Strong knowledge of European financial services regulation; familiarity with frameworks such as MiFID II/MiFIR, IFR/IFD, CRR/CRD, MAR, SSR, BMR and CSDR is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Dutch language capability is strongly preferred.
  • A practical, proactive and hands-on approach, with strong judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with business needs.
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across teams, offices and time zones.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a strong team culture.
