About the Role

We are building Optivers next-generation Enterprise Data Platform on the Databricks Lakehouse. As an Enterprise Data Engineer, youll design the curated data models, pipelines, and metrics that make data a trusted asset across Finance, People, and Business Operations.

This is a hands-on role at the center of our data transformation: youll shape how business stakeholders access and trust data, working on one of the most modern stacks in the industry

WHAT YOULL DO

  • Build clean, scalable ELT pipelines using dbt, SQL, PySpark, and Databricks.

  • Design curated models and semantic layers to standardize KPIs across Finance, People, and Ops.

  • Partner directly with business teams to turn complex requirements into clear, reusable data products.

  • Implement governance and quality checks (lineage, testing, role-based access) so data is reliable and secure.

  • Deliver data products that power BI tools and self-service analytics.

  • Contribute to platform best practices (CI/CD, naming conventions, testing frameworks).

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering, ideally with exposure to Finance, People, or Business Ops data.

  • Advanced SQL and dbt skills, with experience modeling for analytics (dimensional, medallion, vault).

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks or equivalent Lakehouse platforms.

  • Understanding of data governance and quality frameworks.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.

WHO WE ARE

At Optiver, our mission is to constantly improve the market by injecting liquidity, providing accurate pricing, increasing transparency and acting as a stabilizing force no matter the market conditions. With a focus on continuous improvement, we participate in the safeguarding of healthy and efficient markets for everyone who participates. As one of the largest market making institutions, we are a trusted partner of 70+ exchanges across the globe.

WHAT YOULL GET

At Optiver, data is central to everything we do. Youll join a small, high-impact team with a mandate to build best-in-class data capabilities from the ground up. Here, you will:

  • Work with a modern Lakehouse + dbt stack, setting the standards others will follow.

  • See your models and pipelines directly shape decision-making across the firm.

  • Grow alongside experienced data leaders in a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Youll join a culture of collaboration and excellence, where youll be surrounded by curious thinkers and creative problem solvers. Motivated by a passion for continuous improvement, youll thrive in a supportive, high-performing environment alongside talented colleagues, working collectively to tackle the toughest problems in the financial markets.

In addition, youll receive:

  • A performance-based bonus structure, enabling all of our employees to benefit from our global profit pool.

  • The opportunity to work alongside best-in-class professionals from over 50 different countries.

  • 25 paid vacation days in your first year, increasing to 30 from your second year onwards.

  • Training opportunities, discounts on health insurance, and fully paid first-class commuting expenses.

  • Extensive office perks, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, world-class barista coffee, in-house physio and chair massages, organized sports and leisure activities, and Friday afternoon drinks.

  • Training and continuous learning opportunities, including access to conferences and tech events.

  • Competitive relocation packages and visa sponsorship where necessary for expats.
