About the role:
At Morningstar, helping investors is what brings us together and drives our work. The Data & Analytics is looking for a smart and energetic Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join the Fund and Bond Squads. In this role, you will collaborate with Data & Analytics internal/external customers, senior managers, product owners, project managers, Business Analysts, QA and other developers to design, develop and support technology solutions for Investment Analytics Production team using technologies including .Net 4.5+, .Net 8+ , C#, ASP.Net, AWS services and data lake. You will build and support existing systems, study their architecture and complexities. Design, develop and implement new systems with modern software development practices.
Job responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain the software code base.
Help implement software solutions that meet requirements and quality needs.
Reinforce good development practices like test driven development, continuous integration, innovative frameworks and technology solutions that help business move faster.
Develop areas of continuous and automated deployment.
Required Qualifications:
These are the most important skills, qualities, etc. that wed like for this role.
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
2 -4 years of hands on experience in development.
Experience in Microsoft Technologies like .Net 4.5+ , .Net 8 , C#, ASP.Net.
Experience on CICD tools like Jenkins, Harness.
Working experience on Cloud with AWS Lambdas, S3, DynamoDB, Jenkins will be plus.
Experience working in Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
Experience with modern development practices in areas of Product design, Requirement Analysis, Test Driven Development, Automation & Unit Testing in a product development environment.
Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka.
Exposure to agile methodologies and working in Scrum teams.
AWS certification (Developer or Solutions Architect) is a plus.
