Senior Accountant EMEA West
 
The Team: Morningstars Finance team is responsible for accounting, financial planning and analysis of the companys financial results, ensuring adherence to local statutory requirements, and compliance with relevant regulatory bodies (FCA, etc.). The team works closely with our business groups to provide them with timely and insightful information for informed business decisions.
 
The Role: Morningstar is looking for a Wealth Accountant EMEA West (UK, Jersey, Middle East, and South Africa) to join our finance team. This is a role within the Wealth pillar, combining both regulatory support and controllership activities. Reporting to the Wealth Controller EMEA West, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting regulatory reporting requirements while also contributing to core controllership functions including month-end close, financial analysis, and business partnering.
 
This role is an excellent opportunity to develop expertise across both regulatory reporting and controllership functions while working closely with experienced finance professionals. The position is based in our Mumbai office with a 4 day in office hybrid working arrangement.
 
Responsibilities:
Support month-end and quarter-end close processes for Wealth entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Assist in preparing and maintaining cash flow reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and operational needs of the business.
Help in executing financial reporting submissions to local regulatory bodies in relevant jurisdictions 
Collaborate with the compliance team to meet regulatory reporting requirements and address compliance-related issues.
Participate in preparing materials for regulated entities' board meetings.
Support in modelling regulatory and liquid capital, wind-down scenarios, and stress tests for regulated entities.
Help in preparing quarterly board packs for regulated entities
Help maintain the financial risk register for presentation to the legal entity board of directors.
Contribute to identifying and implementing improvements in both regulatory reporting and controllership processes.
Stay informed about local and international regulations impacting financial reporting requirements. 
 
Requirements:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; fully qualified in CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is required.
Experience working in Wealth Management sector
4-7 years of accounting experience, with exposure to financial reporting, and month-end close processes
Basic understanding of FCA reporting requirements and regulatory processes.
Detail-oriented and motivated individual with a willingness to learn and manage tasks effectively.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Knowledge of local GAAP / IFRS; familiarity with US-GAAP is a plus.
Experience with or willingness to learn Oracle Financial Systems and Hyperion Financial Management.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
