We're seeking someone to join our team as a Lead Software Engineer in Commodities in FIDCOM.

The global Commodities Trading Systems team is responsible for developing technology solutions supporting the commodities trading business from front to back through the derivatives' entire lifecycle.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.

  • Hands-on coding in Scala multi-threaded applications and distributed systems

  • Experienced with Commodities Derivatives Risk calculation on PV, Greeks, risk aggregation, risk hedging across different asset classes such as Oil, Natural Gas, Metals

  • Experienced in sales and trade workflow, trade modeling, e.g., quote and price modeling on instruments such as Futures, European Options, Averaged Pricing Options, Swaps, basis Swaps etc

  • Experience with cloud deployment, familiar with Kafka or MQ messaging technics

  • Experience working on non-SQL database

  • Experienced with mono-repo, reference transparent, react programming and graph calculation

  • Excellent written and communication skills

  • Interest in learning the financial knowledge, particularly about commodities trading.

  • Self-motivated, quick-learning and comfortable with working in a global team

  • Hands-on coding in Java multi-threaded applications and distributed systems

  • Strong software engineering, analytical and problem-solving skills


What you'll bring to the role:

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple functions or guide junior staff and initiatives.

  • Advanced understanding of business line and discipline with some knowledge of competitive environment and other disciplines.

  • Experience in server-side Scala development with distributed caching

  • Micro-services development and deployment in cloud environment

  • Good System Design and Architecture Skills

  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguities and working out technology solutions for the business

  • At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
