Who are we?
The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity derivatives and hybrid products. We are looking for a Financial Engineer based in Tokyo.


What does the Financial Engineering Team do?

The Financial Engineering team is in charge of creating and maintaining financial products in close collaboration with sales and traders. The product scope includes derivatives, Morgan Stanley QIS custom indices, and structures wrapping such proprietary indices.

What profile are we looking for?

- Strong IT development skillset, with proven experience building and maintaining applications using JavaScript and Python.

- Comfort in working with data-intensive environments, including SQL databases and kdb+/q, with the ability to design efficient queries, troubleshoot data issues, and support performant data workflows.

- Project management skills reinforced with strong interpersonal skills and teamwork skills. Experience in equity derivatives and funds would be a plus.

- Motivated self-starter with excellent work ethic. Willingness to learn the business and take ownership.

- Business level English is pre-requisite, and business level in Japanese would be a plus.
