Skills and Competencies
  • Strong generalist engineering experience with the ability to deliver reliable, scalable software across the full technology stack
  • Demonstrated ability to own technical decisions, evaluate tradeoffs, and lead technical design when required
  • Experience building and shipping full-stack applications using modern frameworks and tooling
  • Practical experience applying modern AI and machine learning techniques in production environments
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into well-designed technical solutions
  • Clear and effective communication skills, particularly when explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical partners
  • Proven ability to mentor and support other engineers while contributing to team standards and best practices
  • Deep expertise in artificial intelligence, with a track record of implementing advanced AI solutionsincluding agentic AI systemsto drive strategic transformation and operational efficiency.
Education
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
This role focuses on identifying high-impact business problems and designing, building, and owning applied AI solutions that improve real workflows for internal and external users.
  • Identify high-friction problems across the business and design software solutions that address them effectively
  • Build end-to-end, full-stack applications powered by modern AI tooling
  • Own technical design and direction for assigned projects and clearly communicate architectural decisions and tradeoffs
  • Partner closely with users to understand workflows and translate insights into product and engineering decisions
  • Deploy solutions to production environments and take responsibility for ongoing performance, reliability, and improvements
  • Review, test, and approve code to ensure quality, consistency, and maintainability
  • Mentor and support other engineers, contributing to the teams technical growth
  • Continuously improve team tools, practices, and engineering standards
About the Team
The Applied AI team at Moodys focuses on solving real, high-impact problems by embedding AI into everyday workflows. The team works closely with business partners across the organization to design and deliver practical, production-ready solutions that help people access the right information at the right time and make better decisions.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $116,500.00 -  $192,300.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moodys also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
