Education

  • Advanced masters degree in economics, statistics, applied mathematics, financial engineering or related quantitative field with relevant work experience.  Or bachelors degree in economics, statistics, applied mathematics, financial engineering or related quantitative field with at least ten or more years of experience as a credit analyst.
  • Master's degree is highly desirable

As a VP-Senior Analyst, you have an opportunity to join the Corporate ABS new ratings team. The individual will develop strong cross-industry knowledge through hands-on credit analysis, methodology training, and collaborative engagement with new ratings and surveillance teams.
The individual will be primarily responsible for analyzing the portfolio, structural, legal, and other credit aspects of new U.S. Corporate ABS structured finance transactions and producing publishable research. The candidate will be expected to lead rating committees and offer their analysis of the legal and credit risk of the transactions, potential credit impact of the terms of the transaction documents and conduct appropriate market dialogue around transaction credit analysis. The individual is also expected to undertake special projects intended to enhance Moody's thought leadership in credit markets and operational efficiencies, including digital enablement projects. 

Responsibilities

  • Act as lead analyst for new U.S. Corporate ABS transactions. Analyze transaction credit and legal risks, model cash flows and analyze transaction and legal documents to formulate rating recommendations and opinions
  • Communicate effectively with customers, including arrangers, issuers, investors, and outside legal experts
  • Represent the team in operational reviews, issuer and investor meetings, and industry events
  • Write publishable research, including transaction-related reports, articles and in-depth reports on credit issues affecting the industry

About the Team

Moodys U.S. Corporate Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) New Ratings Team in the structured finance department is responsible for assigning new ratings to a wide variety of securitizations that are backed by corporate assets, including digital infrastructure (data centers, digital connectivity, wireless towers, fiber), equipment & transportation (equipment loans/leases, rental cars, fleet lease, aircraft lease), whole business, music royalties and small business loans, amongst others. The team produces timely and high-quality research on developing trends and events in these asset classes through sector and issuer comments and in-depth research reports, and also participates in industry conferences and conducts investor/issuer meetings.
