Team Overview

  • Moelis & Company’s EMEA Energy team is responsible for originating and executing public and private transactions across the energy value chain.
  • The team has a leading track record of advising on landmark M&A and capital markets transactions in the sector.
  • Coverage spans the entire energy value chain, including oil & gas, energy services & technology, energy infrastructure, and energy transition.
  • Based out of London, the team is part of a global energy advisory platform with over 90 energy investment bankers located across London, Houston, and New York.

Job Summary

  • Lead the execution of M&A and capital solutions advisory transactions across the energy space.
  • Oversee financial modelling, valuation analyses, and transaction structuring.
  • Manage project workflows, coordinate deliverables, and take ownership of day-to-day client interaction and transaction execution.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, counterparties, and other advisers throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and news, while contributing to the drafting of pitchbooks and other marketing materials.
  • Provide leadership in training, coaching, and mentoring junior team members (Analysts and Associates).
  • Participate actively in recruitment efforts for Analysts and Associates.

Desired Profile

  • This role represents a unique opportunity to join a market-leading energy advisory team with a strong transactional track record and robust deal flow across the energy sector.
  • The ideal candidate will be operating at the Vice President level and must have 6+ years of energy investment banking experience, including transactional expertise in oil & gas, energy infrastructure, renewable energy, or other relevant sub-sectors.
  • Undergraduate or higher university degree, with a focus on finance, business, accounting, economics, or mathematics preferred.
  • Fluent in English, with additional languages considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated analytical, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to lead client discussions and internal team processes.
  • Proficiency in market data and research tools such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, CapIQ, Wood Mackenzie, Mergermarket, and Pitchbook.
