Title

Vice President - Treasury COO office (Japanese bilingual preferred)

About the Team

The Treasury COO office supports the various Treasury teams with strategic initiatives. The office is responsible for:

  • Manage and promote progress of and critical projects within Treasury coordinating with each Treasury team and stakeholders outside Treasury.

  • Support the Americas Regional Treasurer in strategic decisions and communications.

  • Lead regulatory compliance related to Treasury as first line of defense. This includes monitoring new regulations and government policy trends—especially, liquidity, capital, IRRBB (Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book), regulatory supervision framework, and funding market developments (such as repo market)—, conducting impact analysis and ensuring prompt adaptation to regulatory changes, in coordination with other stakeholders in the firm.

  • Lead preparing responses to audit and compliance consistent as Treasury.

  • Define Target Operating Model for Treasury.

  • Develop strategic budget and resource plans.

  • Act as a liaison with the Head Office.

  • Handle documentations.

Responsibilities

  • Support managing and promoting progress of critical projects within Treasury, coordinating closely with each Treasury team, Technology, Program Management, Risk, Business Lines, and Finance. Ensure that stakeholders understand the goals and timeline of the projects. Raise risks/issues/dependencies.

  • Monitor new regulations and government policy trends affecting Treasury, including liquidity, capital, IRRBB, regulatory supervision framework, and funding market developments.

  • Lead impact analysis of new regulations and government policy trends to Treasury.

  • Support timely and effective adaptation to regulatory changes.

  • Lead preparing responses to audit and compliance consistent as Treasury, ensuring effective communication with audit and compliance teams.

  • Create persuasive PowerPoint presentations to support effective communication of Treasury initiatives to stakeholders including other businesses and managements.

  • Perform a leading role in Business Requirements Documentation.

  • Act as a liaison between the Head Office (HO) and MUSO.

Qualifications

3-5 years Business experience in:

  • Subject matter expertise in Treasury, has been involved or led a Treasury business. Otherwise, we require an understanding of / experience in a Treasury Control function; and/or

  • Experience handling regulatory compliance or legal matters for financial institutions, especially as relates to liquidity and capital.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, concise messages for a range of audiences.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to be a team player. Experience developing and maintaining relationships across various departments.

  • Organized self-starter.

  • High proficiency with advanced Microsoft PowerPoint.

  • Business-level proficiency in Japanese is a plus.

The expected base salary ranges from $110,000 - $200,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
