The Fixed Income Product Controller will support Fixed Income cash products (with emphasis on securitized, municipal, and credit products) and act as a primary control function for the trading desk. Responsibilities include daily, monthly and quarterly P&L production and analysis, risk-based attribution, month-end GL closes, balance sheet substantiation, and review of independent price verification. The role requires daily interaction with trading desks and liaison with Front Office, Operations, Technology, Middle Office and Market Risk, as well as assessing new trades for valuation and accounting treatment and participating in finance projects and process improvements. Strong Excel, analytic, communication skills and an accounting or finance degree are required; 10+ years of product control experience preferred.

Position Summary
This role will be more aligned to Fixed Income Cash Products, with preferred experience working with Securitized, Municipal and Credit Products. A Fixed Income Product Controller is responsible for the financial and managerial reporting for fixed Income trading desks. Controllers are responsible for the monitoring of transactions, Daily P&L and act as a primary control function.
Essential Job Duties
Daily, monthly and quarterly P&L production and analysis, including risk-based attribution (Volcker, Clean P&L)
Daily interaction with trading desks
Liaison with various areas within the firm (e.g. Front Office, Operations, Technology, Middle Office and Market Risk)
Process reengineering to improve efficiencies
Month-end General Ledger closes
Balance sheet substantiation
Review IPV results
Ad hoc requests from the desk
Participation in Finance initiatives/Projects
Assess new trades for appropriate valuation, accounting treatment, and disclosure in the financial statements
Work with financial control in preparation of key external reports such as disclosures
Qualifications
Product Control experience across Securitized Products, Municipals and Credit.
CPA or CFA preferred, but not required
10+ years of product control experience
High attention to detail
Fast learner and team player
Strong analytic and problem solving skills
Highly proficient in Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to clearly articulate ideas
Accounting or Finance degree required
The expected base salary ranges from $120,000 - $180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
