Software Engineer - Equities RAD Technology

Millenniums Excel platform is a world-class system that provides investment teams with a suite of proprietary formulas for retrieving Millennium data inside Excel. The data sets available are sourced from many applications and teams across the Firm and are continually growing and expanding.

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to help enhance and maintain Millenniums Excel platform. In this role, you will contribute hands-on to the design and implementation of new features as well as support existing functionality. You will collaborate closely with Equity Portfolio and Business Management teams to understand their requirements and translate them into robust solutions in Excel.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal data source owners and Technology teams to facilitate strategic and accurate data delivery functionality through Excel

  • Implement new keyword formulas to facilitate data retrieval across systems

  • Enhance existing Excel add-in with functionality based on user requirements

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support AI-driven capabilities surrounding our Excel platform, including Wiki content search, workbook interaction, and model building

  • Maintain, support, and improve capabilities as new requirements arise over time

  • Work jointly with Portfolio Management and Equities Management teams to capture requirements, monitor delivery, and manage expectations

  • Fit into the active culture of Millennium, judged by the ability to deliver timely solutions to portfolio managers within the Firm

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of hands-on experience in distributed Excel development environment

  • Experience developing Excel add-ins in C# using Excel-DNA/VSTO/COM

  • Experience with ASP.NET Core Web API platform for developing scalable REST APIs

  • Experience with CI/CD lifecycle, including deployment of services on Windows Server with IIS

  • Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms for secure system integration across Windows and Linux environments

  • Experience with Python and commonly used frameworks and libraries

  • Experience with AI/LLM concepts, models, libraries, and tooling

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Solid communication skills

Additional Experience (Plus)

  • Experience with Office.js framework for developing modern JavaScript-based Excel Add-Ins, including ribbons commands, task panes, and custom functions

  • Experience with VBA for automating Excel workflows in a robust and reliable way

  • Understanding of Equity markets, trading, and market data (Bloomberg)

Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individuals experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
