Full Job Description

Senior C++ Engineer - High Frequency Trading

The Systematic Platform Execution & Exchange Data (SPEED) Team is at the core of Millenniums Equities, Quant Strategies, and Shared Services Technology organization, powering the firms lowestlatency solutions for systematic and highfrequency trading. SPEED delivers the live trading and marketdata platforms used by portfolio managers and risk systems, including Latency Critical Trading (LCT), DMA OMS (Client Direct), DMA market data feeds, packet capture (PCAPs), enterprise market data, and intraday data services across latency tiers from sub100 nanoseconds to millisecondsensitive workflows. By building and operating this execution and data infrastructure, SPEED enables portfolio managers and researchers to compete effectively in the most timecritical markets.

As a Senior HFT Developer on SPEED, you will design and build core lowlatency components for order entry, market data, exchange simulation, feature extraction, and strategy containers, initially focused on delivering the full set of capabilities required for trading and research infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with system architects and quantitative researchers, operate and optimize these systems in production, and provide technical leadership for SPEEDs HFT platform within the APAC region, with clear opportunities to grow into formal team leadership as the effort scales.. This role offers the chance to work endtoend on missioncritical HFT systems in a highly technical environment, directly shaping the performance, reliability, and evolution of platforms that are central to Millenniums trading edge.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Build low-latency infrastructure for order entry, market data, exchange simulators, feature extraction, strategy container, and other systems.
  • Build convenience layer tools and services to facilitate trading teams onboarding at MLP.
  • Participate in a follow-the-sun support rotation (L2) for latency-critical systems, including real-time troubleshooting of production issues.
  • Work closely with the SPEED architect, quantitative researchers, and the business to provide high ROI solutions that are aligned with both the business and the platform strategy.
  • Provide technical leadership for SPEEDs low-latency trading platform in the APAC region, owning key architectural decisions, setting performance and quality standards, and mentoring less-experienced engineers.
  • Will liaise with many other MLP teams depending on project focus.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • 5+ years with a well-regarded HFT group, delivering production-grade, low-latency systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in C++ and Python for production, lowlatency systems.
  • Strong understanding of Linux internals, CPU architecture (caches, NUMA, branch prediction), and performance profiling.
  • Experience with ultra-low-latency networking (multicast market data, TCP/UDP, kernel-bypass such as DPDK/Onload, custom NIC/FPGA stacks a plus).
  • Strong understanding of the HFT quantitative research pipeline.
  • Experience with HPC grids (scheduling, storage, job management) for research and production workloads.
  • Cloud experience (AWS, GCP) is a plus
  • Proven ability to navigate large organizations, create cross-team synergies, and influence outcomes.
  • High accountability and ownership; able to self-manage time, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership with cross-team influence and team-management potential
