Operations Specialist

Role Summary
The Operations Specialist is responsible for daily clearing, settlement, financing and reconciliation activities across products and accounts, ensuring accurate trade capture, timely issue resolution, and strong operational controls in a dynamic trading environment.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational support, including same-day trade matching, allocation checks, and timely resolution of PM, broker, and counterparty queries.
  • Perform daily trade, cash, position, and market value reconciliations across products and accounts; investigate and resolve breaks on a T+0 / T+1 basis.
  • Monitor intraday trading activity to ensure accurate and timely trade capture, working closely with PMs, supporting teams, and Technology.
  • Manage settlement, financing, and collateral-related processes, including handling queries on high-value or time-sensitive transactions.
  • Interact with prime brokers, custodians, and other external parties to oversee confirmations, settlements, and exception management.
  • Maintain a strong control environment by executing and reviewing operational controls and ensuring timely escalation and resolution of exceptions.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance automation and control.

Qualifications / Skills Required

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in equity and/or multi-asset operations, middle office, or trade support roles.
  • Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, settlement processes, reconciliations, and operational controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets to reconcile, analyze, and improve processes. Python skills to support process automation are advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational risk through robust controls, timely resolution of breaks, and effective escalation.
  • Strong, professional communication skills with the confidence to interact directly with trading desks, PMs, and external counterparties.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving, team-based environment, while maintaining high attention to detail and ownership of deliverables.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $160,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
