Front End Developer Options Trading Team (US Trading Hours)

Millennium is a top tier global hedge fund with a strong commitment to leveraging market innovations in technology and data to deliver high-quality returns.

A dynamic and entrepreneurial options trading team is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Front-End Developer. This role is ideal for those who enjoy building intuitive, high-performance dashboards and tools while working closely with quants & traders to deliver best-in-class applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and Develop UIs: Design and implement front-end applications such as trading dashboards, risk and monitoring tools, and research interfaces using React and TypeScript.
  • UX & Design: Own the end-to-end UX standards for key tools, collaborating directly with traders, and quants to translate workflows into clean, intuitive interfaces and interaction patterns.
  • Data-Rich Interfaces: Develop and maintain rich, interactive data visualisations and tables, with a focus on clarity, usability, and performance.
  • Harmonise Existing Tools: Standardise and consolidate existing internal web tools into a cohesive, consistent, and maintainable UI ecosystem, reducing friction and context-switching for end-users.

Required Qualifications:

  • Front-End Expertise: Strong proficiency with React and TypeScript, including component-based architecture, state management, and modern front-end tooling.
  • UI/UX Skills: Demonstrated ability to design and implement clean, user-friendly interfaces and workflows, with attention to usability and visual clarity.
  • Data Visualisation & Grids: Experience building data-heavy UIs using advanced grid and charting components such as AG Grid and AM5 Charts.
  • Web Fundamentals: Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and browser performance.
  • Collaboration & Ownership: Ability to work independently, engage directly with end users, and own features from requirements gathering through design, implementation, and iteration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial / Trading Interest: An interest in markets and trading (e.g., personal/PA trading, prior exposure to trading environments, or building tools for data-driven decision making). Extensive prior financial experience is not required.
  • Data-Driven Applications: Experience building tools for data analysis, monitoring, or decision support, particularly involving time series, tabular data, or complex dashboards.
  • Python Familiarity: Comfort reading and interacting with Python-based back-end code and data pipelines for integration purposes.

Highly Valued Relevant Experience:

We want someone who is passionate about front-end technology and user experience, and who is constantly exploring new tools, frameworks, and design approaches. The ideal candidate is extremely curious, eager to learn, and excited to collaborate directly with traders and quants to build best-in-class interfaces for options trading. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys owning UI projects end-to-end, and wants to apply their skills to complex, data-rich problems.

Location:

  • London, UK (Note: working hours will be US market open hours)
