Business Analyst/Project Manager - Equities Trading Technology

Overview

The Equities Trading Technology team is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst / Project Manager (BAPM) who thrives in a data-intensive environment. In this delivery-focused role, the successful candidate will take ownership of business analysis, project management, and product management initiatives across our front-office trading platform, with a particular emphasis on real-time pre-trade controls ingrained within the order management system.

Our Trading Services platform processes over 35 billion order and execution messages each year—a volume that demands not only technical competence but also a keen analytical mindset. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to navigate, analyze, and distill actionable insights from large, complex datasets, turning data into strategic decisions. Deep engagement with trading data, systems architecture, and cross-functional stakeholders is essential to ensure robust, scalable solutions in this high-performance environment.

In addition to strong analytical and technical skills, this role requires the discipline and organizational acumen of a traditional project manager—capable of overseeing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously, often with competing priorities and tight deadlines. The candidate must be adept at structuring workflows, maintaining rigorous documentation, and applying best practices in project governance to keep initiatives on track.

Equally important is a true product management mindset. The successful Business Analyst / Project Manager will need to define and drive the product’s roadmap, collaborating closely with stakeholders and senior management to align vision, strategy, and execution. They must be comfortable representing the book of work, gathering and prioritizing requirements, and ensuring that development efforts are focused on delivering maximum value to the business.

This role demands an elevated level of intellectual curiosity, coupled with a proactive desire to understand how processes and systems operate beyond the immediate area of responsibility. Deep engagement with trading data, systems architecture, and cross-functional stakeholders will be critical to success.

If you are a driven and meticulous professional with a passion for problem-solving and delivering impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Delivery: Oversee the execution of Equities Technology-sponsored and business-driven initiatives by collaborating with cross-functional business and engineering teams. Manage all phases of the project lifecycle from inception through delivery, ensuring projects align with strategic goals and are executed on schedule.

  • Front-Office Systems Ownership: Drive the roadmap and delivery of pre-trade control and scare resource management of front-office trading systems, including the Order Management and Execution Management Systems (OMS/EMS).

  • Business Analysis: Analyze and interpret large volumes of trading data to support the production of comprehensive business requirements and actionable insights.

  • Documentation & Governance: Maintain business requirements in Confluence, technical specifications in JIRA, and enforce project governance across initiatives.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Interface and collaborate closely with stakeholders across all levels, from developers and users to senior management, providing clear communication and executive-level updates.

  • Product Management: Represent the book of work to senior leadership, shape the product roadmap, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.

  • Data Distribution Support: Guide client systems and portfolio managers in consuming Trading Services data for pre- and post-trade analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in business analysis and project delivery of trading systems within investment banking, exchanges, or buy-side firms.

  • Proven experience managing technology-driven projects in front-office trading. Demonstrated expertise in managing and driving multiple projects within a program simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Strong understanding of liquid markets and trading products including equities, listed derivatives, and fixed income.

  • Advanced data analysis skills, including SQL and other database tools; ability to extract, interpret, and summarize complex datasets.

  • Experience managing global programs of change; delivery of pre-trade order validation and control features within the order/execution management systems a distinct advantage.

  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to technical teams and senior stakeholders.

  • Intellectual curiosity and an initiative-taking desire to understand how interconnected systems and processes operate beyond the immediate area of responsibility.

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to connect technical solutions to broader business objectives.
