Your Impact

You will provide leadership for the security and safety of our colleagues in the MEO/TCO sub-regions of our EEMA region. As part of this role, you will design, develop, and implement holistic programs to build, drive, and improve security resilience across a wide array of contexts at the firm.
As part of this role, you will own implementation of safety and security standards across our domains, including workplaces, events, studies, travel logistics, and people. This will include ensuring our workplaces meet our baseline security standards, owning security and safety mitigations for McKinsey events with some on-site event attendance, leading on mitigations with client engagements, owning travel safety logistics, and leading support for higher-exposure or impacted colleagues. Your role will also lead on local hazard/threat monitoring and incident response, forming part of the teams follow-the-sun incident leadership handover process.
In addition to these core duties, your role will build strong relationships with one or more global Practices and Functions, leading on security-related projects and programs to improve our firms security posture. You will be viewed as a trusted advisor for regional support and consulting leaders, leading problem solving on strategic initiatives and challenging decisions. You will also seek to actively mentor junior colleagues on the team, including owning development and delivery of new knowledge.
You will be a part of the firm Security Team, whose central mission is to empower exceptional people to deliver distinctive impact safely. As a team, we are dedicated to supporting our colleagues and have the privilege of seeing our impact on a regular basis.

Your role is being offered as a permanent role, and you will be working in one of our offices in Cairo, Doha, Istanbul, or Riyadh locations given the regional nature of the role. You will report to the Global Director of Firm Security within the geographic security operations portfolio.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Undergraduate and/or advanced degree. Additional qualifying certifications also considered Demonstrable track record in leading large-scale projects and programs from ideation through solution deployment 
  • 6+ years of experience in a security, safety, or risk-related role
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive new initiatives with limited information and oversight
  • Creative problem solver with an innovative, solution-oriented mindset 
  • Successful track record of navigating senior stakeholders and complex relationships
  • Highly collaborative attitude and interest in working as part of a diverse and dispersed global team
  • Strong ability to advise and guide technical teams to deliver high-impact technical solutions
  • Background experience or willingness to support incidents in the region
  • Exceptional project-management and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to lead complex initiatives with an uncompromising commitment to quality on both a micro and macro level
  • Ability to work across all levels of seniority, cultivating trust-based, peer-counselor relationships
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills, including the ability to distill complex content into clear and compelling communications for distinct audiences and messages
