Your Impact

As the Manager - Human Resources Operations, you will be responsible for leading the HR Operations based teams in Asia (Gurgaon). This position is based at McKinsey Global Capabilities & Services (MGCS), Gurgaon, and reports to the Director of HR Operations.
Your role will play a critical leadership role in strengthening HR operational excellence and people leadership in Gurgaon (GGN). Your role is responsible not only for the delivery of high-quality, scalable HR operations, but also for building leadership depth, capability, and a strong team culture within the GGN HR Ops teams across Service Operations, Onboarding and Mobility.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to build, lead, and develop a high-performing HR Operations leadership team in GGN, coaching Operations Managers, Team Leads, and senior HR Ops professionals to reach their full potential. You will set clear expectations and performance standards, ensuring everyone is aligned with global HR Ops priorities. By fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, quality, and continuous learning, you will drive both individual and team growth. You will champion talent development, succession planning, and leadership readiness, preparing your team to support the organizations growth and evolving needs. You will also lead workforce planning and recruitment efforts, ensuring your team is always equipped to deliver.
As a key HR Operations leader, you will ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery in line with global processes and SLAs, driving the standardization, simplification, and documentation of HR Ops processes. You will act as a trusted partner to regional and global HR Ops leadership, serving as a point of escalation for service delivery issues and regularly checking in with HR stakeholders to gather feedback and enhance team support. You will also play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of AI agents and automation, helping to scale operations, reduce manual work, and boost efficiency. By leveraging data, metrics, and feedback, you will proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement, making a tangible impact on the organizations HR Operations.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
  • 1012+ years of experience in HR Operations, shared services, or HR Delivery roles within a global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong people leadership experience, including building leadership capability and managing managers.
  • Continual improvement mindset with an astute focus on questioning the status quo, developing creative solutions by partnering with stakeholders and implementation skills
  • Strong operational and governance mindset, with the ability to balance execution and strategic leadership.
  • Experience working with global stakeholders across regions and time zones.
  • Exposure to AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives within HR or operations.
  • Experience operating in professional services or similarly complex, high-standards environments.
  • Knowledge of systems and processes (SNOW, People Central etc.)
