About Corporate Strategy at LSEG

The Corporate Strategy team partners with the CEO, CFO and Executive Committee (ExCo) of LSEG to shape the overall strategy of the Group. It helps to determine priorities for organic and inorganic growth across our portfolio, ensures business units and functions have strategies coherent with and advised by that of the Group, and leads strategic review and initiatives on cross-divisional and cross-functional themes.

Joining the team, you will be right in the nerve centre of LSEG as we build the future of finance, transforming how our customers interact with us, with each other and with markets capitalising on the structural changes that are shaping financial markets and the global economy e.g. the demand for data, AI, and the electronification and digitalisation of trading.

About this role

We are seeking a successful and collaborative leader to join the team as a Strategy Director. This role takes accountability for our annual group-wide strategic reviews as well as leading projects on specific emerging themes. This is a high visibility role, requiring interaction with C-level executives and extensive collaboration with a broad range of leaders across the Group. This role will manage a team of Strategy specialists to define, communicate and support the delivery of Group and/or Divisional strategic plans, including on both an organic and inorganic basis.

Key responsibilities

Own strategy deliverables for our ExCo and Board that articulate our

growth priorities and form a key part of our annual planning cycle!

Help to set our corporate development agenda and contribute to

M&A opportunity assessments.

Lead strategic reviews on emerging questions for the Group,

partnering with leaders across LSEGs businesses and functions.

Accountability for our annual group-wide strategic reviews

Manage and champion development of a team of strategy

professionals

Cultivate and draw on relationships with external advisors and

consultants

Key skills and experience

Thought partnership and problem-solving:

Critical thinking and ability to solve complex problems in a structured

manner

Credibility as a thought partner based on a track record of success

fully advising and constructively challenging business leaders.

Corporate strategy development:

Broad experience of conducting market and competitive landscape

assessments, portfolio reviews and developing group and business

unit strategies

Ability to develop clear and pragmatic recommendations and plans

Experience of M&A due diligence / transaction support a strong plus

Communication:

Excellent communications skills

Experience of preparing executive briefing / Board materials

Strong storytelling skills

Stakeholder engagement and influencing:

Ability to reach across an organization to bring the right expertise

and diversity of perspectives together, adopting a range of operating

models with different partners based on context and business need

Ability to influence executives with insight and respect

Leadership:

Drive for excellence while leading with trust, openness, inclusivity

and humility

Ability to attract, develop and inspire diverse talent

Experience of people management as well leading virtual,

multi-disciplinary teams

The ideal candidate is an experienced strategy professional with a strong track record of collaborating with senior executives to drive growth and change in a corporate setting.

Bachelors or Masters degree; MBA preferred. For example, you might be a principal or senior engagement manager at a top-tier strategy consulting firm, or have extensive experience which includes a combination of strategy consulting, in-house corporate strategy or private equity roles.

Expertise in one or more of the following areas preferred: financial market infrastructure, financial services data, AI, B2B data and analytics businesses, technology transformation, platform business models, big data and cloud.
