Role Summary

The Microsoft Entra ID Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for supporting, operating, and improving core identity and access capabilities within Microsoft Entra ID. This role focuses on ensuring stable directory services, secure access configurations, effective hybrid identity operations, and strong monitoring across the identity platform. The administrator works closely with security, collaboration, endpoint, and other platform teams to maintain a consistent and secure identity environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain core Entra ID configurations that enable secure identity and access management across LSEG.

  • Manage directory structures, administrative boundaries, and rolescoped access to ensure secure and appropriate delegation.

  • Contribute to access policy design and enforcement, helping ensure the right users access the right resources securely.

  • Maintain identity attributes, directory objects, and related configurations required for business and security needs.

  • Operate monitoring, logging, and reporting functions to maintain service health and visibility across identity components.

  • Support hybrid identity operations, including synchronisation and integration between onpremises and cloud environments.

  • Manage domainrelated directory settings and identity services within the cloud environment.

  • Collaborate with peer teams on identityrelated projects, incident response, and change processes.

 

Daily Activities

  • Perform operational checks, configuration updates, and maintenance tasks within Entra ID.

  • Monitor service health, identity signals, and synchronisation processes; address issues proactively.

  • Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and change records.

  • Engage with stakeholders across technology and security teams to support identityrelated initiatives.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID in enterprise environments.

  • Understanding of cloud identity principles, directory management, and hybrid identity concepts.

  • Familiarity with PowerShell, Graph API, or similar tools for automation and scripting.

  • Experience with monitoring, logging, dashboards, or identity analytics.

  • Strong understanding of identity security and operational best practices.

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications.
