This role is responsible for the reliability and performance of shared services platforms underpinning critical authentication, API, data intelligence, and data warehouse capabilities.

You will lead a high-performing SRE team, ensuring these platforms meet high availability, scalability, security, and compliance standards in line with our global Risk Intelligence offerings. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with end-to-end ownership of reliability, incident management, and operational excellence.

Working closely with product engineering, data, and risk team members, you will drive a product-led SRE approach embedding resilience, observability, and automation into the platform lifecycle while supporting a unified, scalable operating model across all Risk Intelligence products.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Platform Reliability

  • Own 247 reliability and operational excellence for Shared Services platforms (Risk Intelligence Hub, Risk Intelligence Hyper Gateway, Risk Intelligence Lakehouse), ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets aligned to business criticality and customer impact.
  • Lead major incident response as Incident Commander; drive blameless post-incident reviews and ensure learnings translate into systemic improvements.
  • Champion an automation-first approach across incident response, deployment, monitoring, compliance, and operational workflows.
  • Partner with platform and product engineering teams to embed non-functional requirements (reliability, scalability, security, observability) early in the SDLC.
  • Co-own the cloud reliability roadmap, driving standardisation of observability, alerting, ITSM, and incident communication tooling.
  • Ensure disaster recovery (DR), business continuity (BCP), and resilience patterns are consistently implemented, tested, and audit-ready.

People Leadership & Site Ownership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SRE engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and engineering excellence.
  • Own performance management, career development, succession planning, and capability building for the team.
  • Partner with HR and Talent teams to support workforce planning, strategic hiring, and onboarding in Bangalore.
  • Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and well-being while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Represent the Bangalore site in global SRE and Shared Services forums.
  • Lead and govern vendor and partner engagements.
  • Support site-level operational readiness, including BCP/DR exercises and critical event preparedness.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in production operations, SRE, or DevOps roles, including 3+ years in a people management role.
  • Proven experience operating cloud-native services on AWS at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
  • Experience with observability and incident management platforms (Datadog, BigPanda, OpenTelemetry, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Nice to have: experience supporting Snowflake platforms, including reliability, performance tuning, and cost efficiency.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in financial services or investment banking.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, ISO 27001, or related frameworks.
  • Exposure to structured major incident management frameworks.
  • Experience with cost optimization and cloud financial management.

Personal Attributes

  • Passionate about engineering excellence, automation, and reliability at scale.
  • Strong people leader with a track record of building and retaining high-performing teams.
  • Strategic problem solver with a bias for action, ownership, and accountability.
  • Calm and decisive under pressure, especially during high-severity incidents.
  • Strong collaborator across global teams.
