About this opportunity

We’re modernising with cloud – building a platform that’s quick, secure and resilient for our customers, and easy, modern and sustainable for our developers.

Our core cloud focus spans Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and increasingly AWS for targeted workloads.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll join our AWS team to design, secure and optimise enterprise cloud infrastructure. You’ll work across networking, automation, security and performance tuning for critical platforms that support millions of customers.

You'll help us on our journey to becoming the UK’s largest FinTech by shaping secure, scalable and innovative cloud solutions.

Within the Cloud Platform Engineering team, the role involves:

Build & operate AWS networking and compute

  • Configure and manage VPCs, EC2, Load Balancers, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink
  • Support hybrid networking and enterprise integration patterns

Automate and modernise our platform

  • Build automation with AWS CLI, Boto3, Terraform, CloudFormation

What we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Hands‑on experience with AWS infrastructure, automation and observability tooling
  • Strong understanding of DNS, SSL/TLS, TCP/IP and core networking principles
  • Familiarity with cloud cost optimisation and multi‑cloud environments
  • Practical experience leading production-grade cloud workloads

Why join us?

You’ll work with modern AWS services, collaborate with dedicated engineering teams and help shape secure and scalable cloud solutions used across the Group. You’ll be part of a community driving innovation, learning and best‑practice engineering.

About working for us

We’re committed to building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want all our people to feel they belong, can be their authentic selves and reach their full potential.

We were among the first major UK employers to set gender‑balanced senior leadership goals, launch a menopause health package and introduce a dedicated Working With Cancer support programme. We’re also a Disability Confident employer.

If you’d like reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, just let us know.

Our benefits include

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
  • An annual performance‑related bonus
  • Share schemes, including free share options
  • A benefits package you can tailor to your lifestyle (e.g., retail discounts, wellbeing support)
  • 30 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays
  • A wide range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

We keep your data safe. So, we'll only ever ask you to provide confidential or sensitive information once you have formally been invited along to an interview or accepted a verbal offer to join us which is when we run our background checks.  We'll always explain what we need and why, with any request coming from a trusted Lloyds Banking Group person.
