JOB TITLE: Finance Assistant Manager - Valuations and Control

SALARY: 44,900 - 49,890

LOCATION: Edinburgh

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40 percent of our time, at our Edinburgh office.

About this opportunity

Finance Valuation Control (FVC) sits within Commercial Banking Finance and is the centre of excellence for valuation oversight and independent price verification across Lloyds Banking Group. You will join our Specialist Valuation team which works closely with teams covering Derivatives and Prudential Valuations, Insurance, Change and End User Developments. Together we support valuations for a wide range of banking book exposures including private equity, investment property, credit assets, facilities, securitisation and valuation adjustments.

As the business grows and new fair value models are introduced, this role strengthens valuation controls, enhances management information and contributes to improvements across our valuation approach.

Day to day, you will:

Support the independent price verification of all pricing parameters used in valuation reporting for your assigned portfolios and models

Prepare and present clear commentary on valuation results, trends and observations to Finance, Risk and Business teams

Demonstrate a commercial view to fair value drivers to aid forecasting and scenario analysis

Improve processes, streamline analysis and enhance management information

Engage in business development where new assets require fair value measurement and assess the implications of different IFRS classifications

Support maintenance of documentation for valuations and IPV activities, ensuring controls and methodologies are kept current

Deliver papers and governance for meetings including the Valuation Committee

Work alongside valuation specialists to support discussions on valuation risk

Help manage internal and external audits related to valuation activities

What youll need:

Experience in banking or financial markets, ideally within finance or product control

An understanding of financial mathematics including yield curve construction and discounted cashflow techniques

Strong Excel capability

The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and partners

And any experience of these would be really useful:

Experience coding in VBA, SQL, Python or other languages

Experience working with auditors or supporting SOX controls

Accounting or financial analyst qualifications

Knowledge of the Totem Consensus service
