KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Manager to join our Global Mobility Services (GMS) practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in identifying and quantifying refund opportunities
  • Provide advisory services to clients by assisting them in proper payroll reporting and tax remittance and in recognizing and securing the abatement of penalties for payroll related issues
  • Support clients in planning for and addressing State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) tax rate increases by providing joint account analysis, voluntary contribution analysis, and SUI tax rate verification
  • Review worker classification issues both retroactively and prospectively
  • Help clients with federal, state, and local employment tax audits
  • Oversee and deliver large client project engagements; liaise with local office tax leadership related to local market activities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum six years of recent experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues; minimum eight years of recent experience in payroll and unemployment tax
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with a concentration in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Licensed CPA, JD/LLM, Enrolled Agent or CPP, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
