KPMG is currently seeking a Lead Engineer I to join our Ignition Tax Product Team. This is a hybrid work opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product owners and data scientists to translate business needs into AIpowered features and APIs
  • Architect, develop, and maintain scalable microservices for model inference (on Azure or similar)
  • Build and maintain clientfacing web apps in Angular + TypeScript, Python or .NET Framework/C# backend services and APIs, secure SQL databases (TSQL, schema design, stored procs)
  • Leverage Azure services (App Services, Functions, SQL Database, DevOps) for deployment, scaling and monitoring
  • Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI services (such as Azure OpenAI, Custom Models Serving) into our frontend and backend systems
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of recent experience in software development and systems architecture
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.  Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field is required
  • Solid understanding of software engineering such as microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization
  • Experience building enterprise systems using Python, .NET, C#, Angular, SQL and Azure is preferred; strong Python skills and experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikitlearn) is preferred; experience in building GenAI based applications or functionalities, RAG Algorithms and Agentic Frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph
  • Take full ownership of large codebases and functional modules, overseeing their development from inception to deployment
  • Mentor junior engineers in AI concepts, conduct code reviews, and guide system design to foster technical growth and best practices as well as strong communication and analytical skills
