What You Will Do

We are currently seeking an adaptable, strategic, and solution-oriented Business Development Manager to join one of our Partner Success Teams. In this role, you will work with Klarna’s largest and most strategic PSPs and uncover growth opportunities and deliver scalable, value-driven solutions. You’ll need to be comfortable in a fast-paced, self-directed environment where critical thinking, rapid learning, and strategic decision-making are essential to success. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute Klarna’s PSP partnership strategy: identify target PSPs, align them with our global product & geographic goals, define partnership objectives, KPIs and go-to-market plans.

  • Own the end-to-end relationship with PSPs: contract negotiation, SLAs, commercial terms, servicelevels, implementation roadmap, ongoing optimisation.

  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, risk/compliance and go-to-market teams to ensure PSP integrations meet Klarna’s standards for performance, scalability, reliability and regulatory compliance.

  • Monitor PSP performance (e.g., volume, conversion, approval rates, charge-backs, fault-rates), build dashboards, identify improvement opportunities and drive value creation.

  • Be the subject-matter expert for PSP capabilities and market-trends: acquire deep understanding of acquiring, card networks, global/regional PSP business models, payments regulation and market innovations.

  • Spot new partnership opportunities (e.g., embedded-payments, alternate payment methods, global expansion support) and collaborate with internal stakeholders to evaluate, prioritise and launch them.

  • Manage risk, compliance, and card-network mandates impacting PSP relationships; liaise with networks, acquirers and regulatory teams to ensure Klarna remains ahead of evolving requirements.

  • Evangelise Klarna’s payment strategy internally; align stakeholders, build business-cases, secure resources and drive partner success.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship (if applicable) to more junior partnership resources working on PSPs or adjacent partner segments.

Who You Are

  • Highly driven with a passion for learning about and engaging with new cultures.

  • Desire to build a business from the ground up.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Thrive in an environment that values ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Awesome to Have

  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications.

  • Experience with international markets and cross-cultural communication.

  • Proficiency in multiple languages.

  • Experience with CRM tools and data analysis software.
