Jupiter provides investment services to individual and institutional investors through mutual funds (UK unit trusts, Luxembourg SICAVs and Dublin OEICs), separately managed accounts and sub-advised funds. The majority of our employees are based in our London office located just minutes from Victoria station which provides stair-free access from both the Undergrounds Victoria line and National Rail platforms, as well as limited road crossings to the Jupiter office. Our London office was designed to encourage employees to live active, healthy lives with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for greater natural light and the benefit of a private balcony, table tennis room, cycle storage and on-site shower and locker facilities. The short distance to Green Park and St James' Park also provides employees with a natural space to relax during their lunch break and a healthy alternative to office-based meetings. 

We offer our UK employees a 3:2 hybrid working arrangement where Tuesdays, Thursdays and a third day of your choice are worked from the office. The other two days may be worked from home.  This facilitates collaboration and allows employees to maximise productivity whilst maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

Background

The Investment Management Controls team operates within the CIO office in the first line of defence in close coordination with our investment teams.  Our role is to foster a control environment where Jupiters Investment Managers can maximise their focus on adding value to our clients while minimising regulatory and operational risks.  Our team acts very much as a conduit between the 2nd and 3rd line and our investment desks and the work is extremely varied and interesting.

With CCLA joining Jupiter we have a need for an extra pair of hands.  At present we have budget for a six-month placement in the team.  The successful candidate will assist the Controls Team with maintaining high standards across the combined business as we navigate the integration process.  This will be a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a critical function while learning about controls, compliance, the investment desks and their processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with Investment Management RCSA refresh process.
• Carry out control testing and first line assurance tasks.
• Liaise with investment desks on day-to-day control issues.
• Assist with creation of monthly management MI and reporting for Senior Management Forums.
• Work with second line functions such as Compliance and Enterprise Risk to address queries and incidents.
• Review Policy & Procedure documents as part of annual refresh cycles.
• Monitoring of investment portfolios for ESG attributes.

Desired Skills / Experience

• Some knowledge of regulation pertaining to Investment Management.
• Some experience with Aladdin is desirable.
• Confident communicator who can quickly build relationships with our stakeholders including investment managers, compliance, internal audit and senior management.
• A curious nature and ability to think pragmatically to solve often complex problems.
• A real team player who is keen to hit the ground running.
