Jupiter provides investment services to individual and institutional investors through mutual funds (UK unit trusts, Luxembourg SICAVs and Dublin OEICs), separately managed accounts and sub-advised funds. Jupiter has experienced a period of international growth with offices open in EMEA and APAC. 

The majority of our employees are based in our London office located just minutes from Victoria station which provides stair-free access from both the Underground’s Victoria line and National Rail platforms, as well as limited road crossings to the Jupiter office. We offer our UK employees a 3:2 hybrid working arrangement where Tuesdays, Thursdays and a third day of your choice are worked from the office. The other two days may be worked from home.  This facilitates collaboration and allows employees to maximise productivity whilst maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

Background

This is a maternity cover 12 month FTC role, reporting directly to the Head of Development, The successful candidate will take on Line Management responsibilities of the Application Developers.


Key Responsibilities

The Application Development Lead will be responsible for the Line Management of the Application Developers. They will provide support and guidance to the team and manage objectives and career planning. They will ensure that development standards are met within the team and work with the Head of Development to make sure business requirements are delivered to a high standard in a timely manner

This role will work closely with Head of Development and Head of Technical Delivery and across all of the Scrum teams.

This is not a purely management role and the individual will still contribute to development within their allocated Scrum Team.

Strong people skills are essential in order to communicate with business users at all levels.

Desired Skills / Experience

The candidate must have demonstrable relevant development experience gained as an Analyst/Programmer or equivalent, with over 4 years’ experience and with a passion for technology and delivery.

  • SQL Server 2016+
  • Automated Testing
  • Design Patterns & Principals (e.g. SOLID)
  • People Management

Desired:

  • Asset Management experience /  Financial Services Experience
  • Web API Services
