As an Associate in the Valuation Control Group within Finance, you will specialize in stress testing and predictive modeling to ensure the firms risk portfolios are fairly valued. You will work closely with Trading, Market Risk, Product Control, Model Governance, and Quantitative Research to drive independent pricing and valuation adjustments. Your role offers exposure to senior management and regulators, and you will help develop models using Python, Excel VBA, and Alteryx. You will be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, precision, and continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth data analysis, using statistical and machine learning techniques, to creatively build predictive or explanatory models 

  • Devising/improving models on new/existing regression analysis

  • Communicate complex results to senior stakeholders in a clear and precise manner

  • Work independently and collaboratively to establish close partnerships with peers across the greater CIB organization and Global Treasury.

  • Lead and participate in ad-hoc projects as needed by senior management or regulatory initiatives

  • Participate on the ongoing process improvements, optimization, and rationalization efforts 

  • Help write the official Model documentation and interact with the Model Governance group for review and approval

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, time series modelling and applied machine learning
  • Experience of valuation control processes and prudent valuation is a strong plus but not a requirement.

  • Knowledge of finance in general will be an advantage

  • Analytical, quantitative aptitude and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Good knowledge of programming in Python and working knowledge of Excel / Alteryx.
