Do you like partnering with senior stakeholders and global counterparts to drive transformational change? 


As the Executive Director (ED) in equity payments, you will lead the regional High-Risk Can-I-Pay (CIP) function within Equities Payments, setting the strategic direction, governance framework, and operational control standards for high-risk and high-value payments activity. This senior leadership role requires a combination of product and operations expertise, risk management acumen, and a strong track record in leading teams and transformation initiatives. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the regional CIP team of senior payment specialists, providing oversight on all high-risk payment approvals and exceptions.
  • Define, maintain, and enhance the control environment for payment governance across Equities businesses.
  • Serve as the regional escalation point for payment risk issues, ensuring timely resolution and proactive prevention of control breaches.
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to drive consistency and alignment across Asia, EMEA, and NA regions.
  • Own delivery of regional components for the global Can-I-Pay system initiative shaping requirements, validating design, and ensuring business readiness.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders (Front Office, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance) to challenge existing processes and ensure adherence to firm-wide payment control policies.
  • Champion automation, STP, and process reengineering opportunities to enhance control and efficiency.
  • Build a high-performing specialist team, focusing on talent development, cross-product expertise, and a culture of operational excellence.
  • Represent Equities Payments at key risk, regulatory, and governance forums, articulating payment control metrics and trends.

     

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 12+ years in senior Operations or Payment leadership roles across Equities or other trading products.
  • Demonstrated experience managing regional or global teams and influencing at senior management levels.
  • Front-to-back understanding of trade lifecycle, client funding mechanisms, and cash management across major asset classes.
  • Strong risk and control mindset with prior ownership of payment approval or governance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead change and strategic programs delivering both control uplift and efficiency.
