As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Trust & Security part of Consumer and Community Banking, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your teams work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
  • Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
  • Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
  • Manages stakeholder relationships and the teams work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
  • Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Core Skills - Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservice architecture, AWS, Terraform, Github, Github copilot, jenkins, RESTful API development
  • Databases: Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Redis, Cassandra).
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes).
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Sound knowledge on monitoring tools like Splunk , Datatdog , Dynatrace , Cloudwatch etc.,
  • Able to lead and scale an 8+ member team by driving high performance, maintaining strong team health, managing the team performance cycle, and fostering innovation.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
  • AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, Developer Associate).
