Location: Taipei, Taiwan

Be the strategic and operational partner to Taiwans Portfolio Management and Trading teamsstrengthening governance, accelerating initiatives, and protecting the business through robust controls. This role sits at the center of investment, risk, and execution in a highly regulated environment.

 

As an Investment Business Manager (Vice President) in the local Portfolio Management and Trading function, you will lead and represent the local Portfolio Management and Trading function to optimize performance both strategically and operationally across funds, ETFs, and segregated accounts. You will share accountability with business executives for identifying investment/business opportunities, proactively assessing operational risks, and designing sustainable control solutions. You will partner closely with operations, legal, compliance, risk, audit, technology, and regulators, and provide clear reporting and escalation to senior management

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and monitoring of local investment research documentation and trading orders.
  • Act as the first line of defense to maintain a robust control environment for Taiwan Investment and Trading teams.
  • Represent Taiwan Investment Management and Trading in communications with regulators and in local/regional governance forums and committees.
  • Partner with Investment Directors, Product Development/Administration, Control, Risk, Audit, Compliance, and Technology to support business execution and governance.
  • Support new product/instrument development and ongoing management; enhance front-office procedures, systems, monitoring, and controls.
  • Lead local investment risk and controls assessments, including error/breach management and legal/regulatory obligation tracking.
  • Prepare senior management presentations and reporting on monitoring outcomes, escalations, and control effectiveness.
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis, requests, and special projects as needed.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 plus years of relevant experience in investment management, investment business management, compliance, risk management, and/or project management.
  • Demonstrated control mindset with strong ability to identify risks early, assess impact, and drive effective mitigations.
  • Proven experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, Technology) and managing governance routines.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical skills, and high numeracy with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills, including prioritization and delivery under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Confident communicator who can influence at all levels, address conflict directly, and escalate appropriately.
  • Self-starter who can work independently, take ownership, and operate with high responsibility.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English and Chinese.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience engaging with Taiwan regulators and supporting regulatory examinations/requests.
  • Strong understanding of investment management operations across funds, ETFs, and segregated accounts (multi-asset exposure a plus).
  • Direct experience supporting Portfolio Management and Trading teams (front-office governance and controls).
  • Prior experience in a global organization with regional stakeholder management.
  • Familiarity with trade lifecycle controls (pre-/post-trade monitoring, breaches, and remediation workflows).
  • Professional certification (e.g., CFA/FRM/PRM) or equivalent risk/investment credential.
  • Experience improving front-office processes and systems (e.g., workflow optimization, control automation, monitoring enhancements).
