As an Associate on the US Interest Rate Derivatives Strategy team within the Commercial & Investment Banks research department, you will generate impactful research, develop trading strategies, and interact with a diverse set of institutional clients. This fast-paced, intellectually stimulating role offers the opportunity to work alongside top-ranked strategists and contribute to the teams continued success in the Fixed Income Derivatives markets.
Job responsibilities
- Write and produce regular research reports, including flagship publications and special topic notes
- Liaise with economists and strategists to formulate forecasts and market views
- Build new analytical frameworks and datasets, and maintain or improve existing ones
- Conduct research into innovative and market-relevant topics in US fixed income derivatives
- Interact with internal sales and trading teams and external institutional clients to fulfill requests and deliver research views
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Degree in Finance/Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Quantitative Sciences, or similar discipline
- Excellent quantitative skills; experience with financial modeling
- Strong programming skills in a language such as Python or MATLAB
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and collaborate within a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Familiarity with economic datasets and experience navigating databases through interfaces like Bloomberg
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Mastery of Microsoft Office suite
- Familiarity with derivatives and fixed income markets
- Experience working with institutional clients in a research or strategy capacity
