As a Fund Servicing Associate I within JPMorganChase, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our operational services related to fund accounting and administration. Your work will have a meaningful impact within our department, as you apply your broad knowledge of fund servicing principles and practices to perform diverse activities requiring analysis and judgement. With your advanced emotional intelligence, you will build trusting relationships with peers, managers, and stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment. Your continuous improvement mindset will drive you to propose and implement improvements to our current working methods, contributing to the efficiency and resilience of our operating platform.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Review cash and asset breaks reconciliation between accounting and custody, ensuring standard commentary is easily understood by internal stakeholders and clients.

     

  • Analyze client accounting records, escalating potential issues as appropriate.
  • Identify and correct misstatements within accounting; escalate potential audit findings.
  • Resolve team queries and act as a reference point for junior team members on technical, accounting, and audit matters.

     

  • Recognize and act on opportunities to improve processes, including developing and recommending changes; encourage team to suggest efficiency ideas.
  • Ensure adherence to all risk and control checks, maintaining up-to-date checklists and SOPs.
  • Liaise with OCM (internal control) team on issues requiring review.

     

  • Collaborate with local and global management teams, providing timely updates and MIS.
  • Understand information flow between accounting and custody systems; perform root-cause analysis of breaks, submit workflow/process redesign changes, and follow up with stakeholders or technology partners to eliminate breaks.
  • Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • 8+ years experience in Fund Accounting or Financial Reporting, with a strong understanding of financial products.
  • Experience managing a team of 35 people, including completion of performance reviews and objective setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical review capabilities related to Fund Accounting numbers and reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of primary US regulations, mutual funds, and NAV.
  • Ability to implement change, seek efficiencies, and manage initiatives alongside daily workload.
  • Risk, control, and procedure oriented.
  • Strong analytical and prioritization skills; capable of making sound judgments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated management skills and ability to build key internal relationships across locations.
  • Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Postgraduate degree with a major in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience in managing people and building relationships across multiple locations.
  • Ability to drive process improvements and manage change initiatives.
  • Promote success for clients and our firm as a key member of the Fund Services Operations team
