The CDAO is also responsible for developing and implementing solutions that support the firm’s commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to develop new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management effectively and responsibly.

As a Data Owner in the Corporate Finance Chief Data Office (CDAO), you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing procedures that ensure data supports business operations, strategic objectives, and advanced analytics. Your day will involve collaborating with technology and business teams to define data requirements, describe data, maintain data quality, and address data risks. By leveraging your expertise, you will help drive data initiatives that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency across the organization. Your contributions will be vital in fostering a data-driven culture that supports the company's growth and innovation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational procedures for delivering data to support business operations, strategic objectives, and advanced analytics
  • Leverage subject matter expertise and internal partnerships to define and document metadata and classifiers, ensuring understanding and effective use across business functions
  • Support the implementation of data governance, data products, data publishing standards, and risk management processes under senior leadership guidance
  • Define and document data requirements of key stakeholders to ensure understanding of data and its use across business and functions
  • Execute processes to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks throughout the data lifecycle, including protection, retention, storage, use, and quality
  • Partner with technology and business resources to ensure data sourcing, content, and quality meet established requirements
  • Collaborate with teams to investigate root causes of data issues and provide recommendations for remediation
  • Mentor and support junior staff in their professional development, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, OR equivalent professional experience in data management, data governance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in data management, data governance, risk management / analytics, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and data lifecycle management, including data protection, data quality and data classification
  • Experience in defining and documenting data requirements, metadata, and classifiers
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technology and business teams to ensure data quality and compliance with standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address data issues
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, to effectively communicate data insights
  • Familiarity with data governance tools and platforms
  • Experience in a similar role within the same industry, providing insights into industry-specific data challenges
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
