The Chase Card and Connected Commerce Communications team is looking for a communications pro with expertise in building compelling stories, bringing to life impactful communications/PR campaigns, and engaging with press and influencers. As a communications Vice President within the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Communications team, you will be a member of a high-performing team that communicates with honesty, authenticity and empathy.
As a External Communications Vice President, Branded Card within Consumer and Community Banking you will report to the Head of External Communications for Branded Card where you will be part of a team supporting the #1 credit card issuer in the US. You will collaborate closely with other members of the Card and Connected Commerce External Communications team on 360 integrated marketing / communications campaigns for the Card business, with a focus on the Freedom and Slate credit card portfolios. You will lead external storytelling and PR for the Freedom and Slate credit card portfolios, developing compelling narratives and executing 360 integrated marketing/communications campaigns. You will develop and execute breakthrough campaigns and tell compelling stories with a fresh, modern and human voice across a range of channels. And have some fun along the way.
Job responsibilities
Develop, present and execute strategic and tactical communications/public relations campaigns that lead business outcomes
Collaborate with internal and external Chase marketing support teams (events, social, brand/advertising, video, content), functional groups (e.g., Legal, Controls), business leaders, external partners and support agencies to execute campaigns and tell a holistic story across a variety of channels
Conduct proactive media outreach, earned influencer engagement programs and manage media and influencers at cardmember events and experiences
Draft a variety of communications materials, from media pitches to press releases to social media posts / responses
Oversee and collaborate with communications/PR agency on campaign planning, execution and measurement
Protect and enhance the reputation of the firm - both externally and among employees
Coordinate with internal communications team members to pull through meaningful storylines within Chase
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
7+ years of experience in an external communications/PR role
Proven experience in proactive and reactive media relations, and proactively executing public relations campaigns that resulted in positive press coverage and supported business results
Experience working in the financial services, credit cards, entertainment or consumer product industries; relationships with consumer lifestyle and/or business/finance media
Executive communications experience consulting directly with an executive/leaders; presentations skills
Some domestic travel required
Excellent writing and editing skills; experience building meaningful narratives and storylines
Strong relationship building and collaborative decision-making skills; the ability to inspire confidence from, and to collaborate closely with teams, internal stakeholders / senior leaders and external partners
Outstanding judgment and interpersonal skills, including partnering effectively with executives, peers and other functional groups across the company
High level of independence, energy and integrity, demonstrating respect for a diversity of opinions and styles, and taking accountability / accepting responsibility; negotiation and influencing skills
Experience with applying measurement tools to demonstrate success; fluency across social media and other multi-media channels, including in managing social media messaging
Must be able to demonstrate speed, flexibility and adaptability. We need a go-getter who can prioritize and manage multiple projects and has the ability to deliver on tight deadlines and sometimes outside traditional business hours.
