The Early Careers team at JPMorganChase are responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining the next generation of talent across our organisation. We focus on creating innovative programs and initiatives that support the growth and development of early career professionals, including interns, graduates, and apprentices. Our team operates across multiple regions, ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience for all participants, while also tailoring programs to meet local needs and cultural nuances.

Early Careers sits within Human Resources (HR) which plays a critical role in driving the employee experience, shaping the firms culture and building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We are a strategic partner to the business working with leaders across the firm to hire, develop and retain the best people, and help meet business goals. 

As a Programme Manager for the UK Apprenticeship programme in the Early Careers team, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional experience for both apprentices and managers as they move through their four year programme. This role is well-suited to someone with initial experience in Early Careers programme management - or broader HR generalist experience - who's keen to grow in Early Careers.

Job responsibilities

  • Apprentice Support and Well-being: provide ongoing support and guidance to apprentices, addressing their personal and professional development needs; foster a supportive and inclusive environment where apprentices feel valued; promote well-being initiatives and provide resources to support apprentices' mental and emotional health
  • Mentorship and Coaching: act as a mentor and coach to apprentices, helping them navigate challenges and build confidence in their roles; facilitate connections with experienced professionals within the organization for additional mentorship opportunities
  • Community Building: organize social and networking events to help apprentices build relationships and integrate into the JPMorganChase community
  • Apprentice Manager Support: work with apprentice managers to create personalized development plans that align with their career aspirations and interests; provide support to managers on dealing with performance management and conduct issues 
  • Feedback and Communication: maintain open lines of communication with apprentices, encouraging feedback and suggestions for programme improvement; check in with apprentices and managers to assess their progress and address any concerns or issues
  • Event Management: plan and manage logistics for events such as inductions, social events & graduation ceremonies; partner with the wider Early Careers team to ensure Apprentices network with other EC programmes; help to deliver other insight initiatives such a T-Levels & Work Experience 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Strong organizational and process management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Passionate about developing young talent and building innovative strategies
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize and escalate appropriately
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through and results orientation
  • Creativity and ability to generate new ideas
