As a Surveillance Lead (Surveillance Strategy) Vice President within the Global Strategy team, you will be a key player in advancement of the global trade surveillance program. Your role will involve driving strategic surveillance enhancements and initiatives across the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB), Wealth Management and Asset Management Surveillance programs on a global scale, with a focus on regional regulatory needs where applicable. You will work closely with stakeholders across Surveillance, Technology and Data teams to promote our global program and its responsibilities. You will to have a strong attention to detail, possess excellent analytical skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of AI and ML models for trade surveillance, including model development alongside surveillance SMEs, production deployment, ongoing performance monitoring (OPM), and required recalibrations to ensure compliance with Model Risk Governance standards.

  • Collaborate closely with Model Risk Governance teams to design, implement, and maintain robust OPM plans, ensuring timely recalibration and risk mitigation for all deployed models.

  • Oversee ongoing maintenance of surveillance models in production, including OPM reviews, retraining, and documentation of model changes to maintain regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness.

  • Drive strategic enhancements and innovation across global trade surveillance programs by leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs) to optimize threshold tuning, coverage, and detection capabilities.

  • Utilize hands-on experience with GenAI and LLM tools to streamline surveillance processes, automate workflows, and improve operational efficiencies; actively partner with technology teams to integrate these tools into surveillance solutions.

  • Maintain strong partnerships with Surveillance, Data Science, Technology, and vendor teams to promote global program objectives and ensure alignment with regional regulatory requirements.

  • Adapt to agile product development environments, managing multiple priorities and delivering innovative solutions in a fast-paced setting.

     

     

     

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Proven experience in deploying, maintaining, and recalibrating AI/ML models in production environments, within compliance, regulatory, or surveillance functions.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Model Risk Governance, including the development and execution of Ongoing Performance Monitoring (OPM) plans and model recalibration protocols.

  • Practical experience leveraging GenAI and LLM tools to enhance surveillance operations, automate tasks, and collaborate with technology partners on tool integration for compliance and risk management.

  • Strong background in trade surveillance data, review processes, and parameter tuning, including experience with systems leveraged within compliance and surveillance teams.

  • Experience working on strategic initiatives, including requirements definition, data analysis, UAT testing, and project delivery within compliance/regulatory/surveillance environments.

  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across business, technology, and data science teams, driving cross-functional outcomes.

  • Track record of delivering tangible results using project management and agile methodologies (e.g., sprint planning, milestone tracking, reporting).

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders at all levels.
