As a Global Financial Crime Compliance Sanctions Compliance Program and Strategic Initiative Vice President within the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) team, you will lead the strategic development initiatives and Sanctions governance related functions. You will drive the implementation and execution of JPMorgan Chase's Firmwide Sanctions program while exercising sound judgment and maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

Key responsibilities require you to maintain governance framework encompassing committee oversight, Data/Retention Governance, Strategic Initiatives, BAU system changes, new business program initiatives, project reviews, and LOB coordination with an emphasis on sanctions compliance.  You will also collaborate strategically with global partners, screening operations, and various governance partners to optimize and enhance sanctions requirements.

The Sanctions Oversight and Governance team is responsible for providing oversight of Regulatory exams, Audits, and controls testing initiatives, while maintaining accountability as the data retention owner and overseeing technology solutions that support sanctions documentation and record-keeping requirements. You will champion innovation initiatives to scale the sanctions platform in alignment with evolving regulatory landscapes and establish synergies across sanctions screening standards and governance programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the teams Data and Retention Governance Framework 
  • Ensure updates to policy requirements in accordance with change management and governance processes, as well as in partnership with LOB, Corporate Functions, and Compliance stakeholders. Perform analysis to identify major issues and actionable opportunities, design potential solutions, and quantify bottom-line financial impact
  • Develop management, stakeholder, and regulator presentations in order to communicate issues, recommendations, and status of initiatives
  • Identify potential concerns and control issues, determine the root cause of issues and ensure stakeholders develop and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Conduct ongoing compliance monitoring activities and participate in special projects as required
  • Challenge the status quo by providing critical and analytical thinking and strong decision making capabilities to identify problems, propose creative solutions, and escalate as necessary
  • Develop project plans and document and analyze business systems/processes

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 5+ years AML/BSA/KYC Compliance or other related experience such as Risk management, Audit or similar Control-related experience that includes policy writing.
  • Strong understanding of relevant statutory and regulatory AML/Sanctions requirements globally, with the ability to understand, interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements to business practices.
  • Ability to establish credibility, strong partnerships and influence a broad stakeholder group which includes regulators, senior business leaders, control functions, and corporate partners globally.
  • Possess strong written and oral executive-level communications skills.
  • Detail-oriented; possess a high-level of attention to detail and quality for their work product.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience using the MS Suite of products.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a core team member.

  • Bachelor's degree with professional certification preferred.
