As a Compliance Risk Management Lead Vice President covering the Commodities line of business, you will provide regulatory compliance guidance and support to the Commodities  businesses, including Physical and OTC Financial and Futures Trading across the products JPMorgan is active in including Bullion, Base Metals, Agricultural, Natural Gas, Power (Electricity), Oil and Environmental & Emissions Products. You will also work closely with other lines of business across the firm on cross-product initiatives.  In addition, you will partner with other Compliance and Legal teams on assessing and measuring compliance and related risks and developing common standards and practices.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Identifying and managing compliance and conduct risk related to trading of physical commodities, financial OTC derivatives, and listed futures
  • Provide independent challenge related to business decision-making and risk management processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with front-office personnel, business managers, control managers, technology and other business-aligned corporate functions to facilitate dialogue and effective implementation of solutions
  • Work proactively to maintain, enhance and develop an effective control environment and supervisory program
  • Provide Compliance perspective in business expansion activities including new products and product change reviews
  • Draft and review Compliance policies, standards and bulletins to support awareness of requirements
  • Create and deliver Compliance training presentations to emphasize important regulatory and policy principles
  • Participate in firm-wide risk assessment, monitoring and testing initiatives
  • Attend business meetings and control forums, and
  • Assist in preparing information and responses to regulatory examinations, investigations, inquiries, and data and information requests 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with the aptitude to initiate action, adapt to change, make difficult decisions, and accept challenging assignments
  • Excellent business judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to both work independently and in a team environment 
  • Strong organizational, project management and presentation skills
  • Bachelors degree with 6+ years of experience

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of Futures Exchange, CFTC and NFA rules relating to Commodities 
  • Experience working in an investment bank, commodities merchant/dealer or FCM
  • Masters or Law degree with 4+ years of experience
  • Experience with a law firm, regulator, investment bank, broker, or market participant.
