You are customer focused, enjoy building relationships and providing financial advice to your clients. A role as a Government Commercial Banker is for you.  

As a Government Commercial Banker within our dynamic team, you will lead and grow a portfolio of public sector clients cities, counties, special districts, school districts, transportation/transit, utilities, and other government entities by delivering integrated treasury and credit solutions. 

You will collaborate with dedicated product specialists from various sectors such as Treasury and Security Services, Public Finance, Securities Trading, and Asset Management and Leasing to deliver our comprehensive range of services and products to our clients and prospects. 

You will play a pivotal role in acquiring new clients and nurturing existing relationships to drive revenue, manage risk, and ensure compliance with public-sector procurement and governance while orchestrating cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.

Job responsibilities 

  • Champion a culture of innovation and a customer centric mindset 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation or strategic partnerships 
  • Find ways to further efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation while embracing the innovative opportunities offered by new technologies 
  • Own a public-sector portfolio; execute plans to acquire and deepen relationship through disciplined account planning and pipeline management.
  • Respond to and win public-sector RFPs; craft compliant proposals and lead finalist presentations across banking and treasury solutions. 
  • Serve as relationship point of contact across Treasury, Credit, Implementation, Service, Merchant Services, Fraud, and Public Finance; drive flawless implementations and rapid issue resolution.
  • Build market presence via municipal associations and government finance forums; sustain advisor networks. 


Required qualifications, capabilities and skills 

  • 5 + years direct lending or credit support related experience with a focus on business relationships; 
  • Understanding of Commercial Banking products and services 
  • Ability to collaborate with internal partners and resources 
  • Demonstrated experience of meeting or exceeding sales goals 
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage, prioritize, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; able to effectively communicate clearly and concisely 
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior business and control partners. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Government/Public Sector banking or municipal finance/treasury with proven portfolio growth across multi-product treasury and credit. 


Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills 

  • Bachelors degree and formal credit training preferred 
  • Sales management, business development skills, proficiency in building and maintaining positive client relationships 
  • Strong creative solution, problem solving abilities, flexible to changing business priorities and ability to multitask 
  • Excellent business judgment, strategic thinking, self-directed, proactive and creative 

 

This role is subject to Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act and that any employment offer depends on JPMorgan Chases review of the candidates criminal conviction history, including pretrial diversions or program entries.
