  • The Multi-Asset Solutions (MAS) team at J.P. Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) brings over 50 years of expertise in managing multi-asset portfolios. Leveraging proprietary JPMAM strategies, MAS delivers customized, cross-asset class solutions tailored to the investment management needs of institutional and retail clients. Job summary: 

As the Head of Macro Research - Executive Director on the Asset Management Multi-Asset Solutions team you will drive the global macro research agenda for J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Multi-Asset Solutions investment team, with a primary focus on the US, Eurozone, Japan, and China. You will lead the formulation of macroeconomic views and partner closely with fundamental and quantitative research teams, as well as portfolio managers, to translate top-down and bottoms-up macro insights into actionable investment recommendations across major asset classes. 

Job responsibilities: 

  • Lead the formulation and communication of global macroeconomic views that shape investment decisions across all portfolios managed by the Multi-Asset Solutions team.
  • Produce rigorous, well-researched macro analysis on key regions, and effectively translate macro insights into asset class implications through both written reports and presentations.
  • Develop global economic forecasts and risk scenarios to support asset class return forecasting, including the US, Eurozone, Japan, China, and certain emerging markets. 
  • Utilize both quant and fundamental tools, including bottoms-up insights from companies, in a cohesive process to track trajectory of macroeconomy against market consensus.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with portfolio managers and fundamental and quant research teams.
  • Mentor, develop, and manage macro research team members; foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing across regions and time zones.

 

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities: 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in macroeconomic research, with a proven track record of generating actionable insights, preferably at a buy-side investing firm.
  • Demonstrated expertise in analyzing growth, inflation, and other macroeconomic drivers; ability to deliver concise, time-sensitive views to investment teams.
  • Deep understanding of the interplay between macroeconomic trends and asset class performance.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and economic modeling tools (e.g., Excel, Python or R, Eviews or Stata, Bloomberg); ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication; effective presenter to investment committees and clients; collaborative, team‑oriented leadership.
  • Experience managing and developing teams across regions and time zones.

 

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • CFA preferred.
